From the American Supply Association’s Monthly Pulse Report, for the month ending Feb. 28, distributor member respondents reported a median sales increase of 7.7%. For the calendar year to date, respondents reported a median sales growth of 9.5%. For the trailing 12 months, respondents reported a median sales growth of 6.7%. Inventory also rose 6% for February 2018 vs. February 2017.
The median three-months average days sales outstanding rose to 44 in February vs. 43.5 in January. Nearly half of the survey participants reported an increase in gross-margin percentage for February. Company year-to-date profit before tax increased for 58% of respondents. More than 61% of respondents reported having more full-time-equivalent employees vs. a year ago.
