Polyethylene resin prices were reported as holding steady to falling a bit in November after suppliers failed to gain support for a 4-cent-per-pound price hike in October. Most HDPE grades were reported to have fallen sharply. Analysts writing in the plastics publications mostly predict a flat market for the remainder of the year. Although oil prices have risen from their lows earlier in the year, they haven’t gone high enough to have a major impact on plastic feedstocks.
