The International Code Council promoted
Bob Guenther
as director of mechanical programs for the Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas
Group. He will represent the ICC on
committees for the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, the American
Society of Heating Refrigeration Air Conditioning Engineers and the California
Energy Commission. He also will maintain his long-time relationship with the
Institute of Heating and Air Conditioning Industries and other industry groups.
Guenther
joined the council’s technical staff in 2005 where he responded to thousands of
code interpretations and technical inquiries, taught seminars across the
country and authored reference books and documents, including “Significant
Changes to the International Mechanical Code” and “Principal Changes to
the California Mechanical Code.”
Before
starting at the ICC, Guenther was the mechanical official for Long Beach,
Calif., and a mechanical inspector for the city of Los Angeles for more than 35
years.
