The Don Caffee Memorial golf tournament will be held May 20 at Wildcat Golf Club in Houston. The tournament benefits the PVF Roundtable Scholarship Fund.

The fund provides scholarships to the industrial distribution departments at Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. The tournament precedes the spring PVF Roundtable meeting May 21 at the J.W. Marriott in Houston. The February PVF Roundtable drew a record crowd of more than 400 attendees.

“We need to draw more young people into this industry and scholarships are the best way to do it,” PVF Roundtable President Danny Westbrook (Westbrook Mfg.) said at the February meeting.

The cost of the four-person scramble format is $125 per player ($150 after May 1) and $500 per team ($600 after May 1). All fees are considered tax-deductible 501(c) (3) charitable donations. Last year’s golf tournament raised $26,000.

“Our goal is to beat $26,000 this year,” PVF Roundtable Board of Directors member Kelly Kelsheimer (Neway Valve) said. “We need these scholarships for our industry.”
