Comfort Supply (Nashville, TN) said that its CEO, Clay Blevins, was honored as one of Nashville’s “40 Under 40,” an award presented annually to 40 people under 40 years old who are making a significant difference in the business community, by the Nashville Business Journal.

Comfort Supply, a wholesaler of HVAC equipment and supplies in Tennessee and a supplier of Ruud HVAC products, has tripled in size during the past six years.

Blevins credited his employees and contractor customers with the company’s success, as well as an “open book” financial policy.

“The idea is for everyone – from the guys in the warehouse, to drivers, to management – to feel like an owner,” said Blevins. “It really works. When everyone knows exactly where the company stands and how their contributions make a difference, they rise to the occasion – and work becomes more than a job.”

Comfort Supply also employs a former accounting professor to work with employees on their personal finances.

Founded in 1971 as one of Tennessee’s first HVAC wholesalers, Comfort Supply serves the residential and commercial market from locations in Nashville, Murfreesboro and Cookeville. In 2002, the company was purchased by Bill and Clay Blevins and is affiliated with Nashville based Blevins Inc., a supplier for manufactured housing.
