Chicago Faucets said that its ECAST line of faucets and fixtures was developed in response to California Assembly Bill 1953, which takes effect Jan. 1, 2010, and establishes new lead content levels for faucets, pipe and plumbing fittings. Affected products must be certified by an independent, ANSI-approved, third-party testing organization in order to be sold and installed in California. The ECAST line has received certification from IAPMO and was introduced in California last October, 14 months before the law will take effect.

The ECAST line provides a complete offering of durable, high quality brass faucets and fixtures, including deck-mounted and wall-mounted faucets, metering faucets, stop valves, specialty fittings and bubblers. The line was developed specifically to meet theAB1953standard requiring faucets intended to dispense water for human consumption, and must not exceed a total weighted average of 0.25% maximum lead content.
