Faucets said that its ECAST line of faucets and
fixtures was developed in response to California Assembly Bill 1953, which
takes effect Jan. 1, 2010, and establishes new lead content levels for faucets,
pipe and plumbing fittings. Affected products must be certified by an
independent, ANSI-approved, third-party testing organization in order to be
sold and installed in California. The ECAST line has received certification
from IAPMO and was introduced in California last October, 14 months before the
law will take effect.
