The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute recognized Senator Kit Bond (R-Mo.) with its PMI Legislator of the Year award at its fall 2004 meeting in Washington, D.C.

Senator Bond has fought for sensible regulations, sound science and credible solutions to environmental and health challenges as chairman of the Appropriations subcommittee, PMI said in a statement.

This past summer Senator Bond played a critical role in supporting sensible alternatives to addressing D.C.'s drinking water issues and stopping the Jeffords bill, which would have essentially banned safe brass plumbing products, from advancing in committee, PMI said.
