The early months of the year are always a busy time at the Center for Advancing Technology (CAT), and 2005 is no exception. Many industry groups hold their meetings in the Spring and often they invite CAT to participate in their programs.

In March, the WIT buying group held its annual conference in Dallas. CAT Director Kevin Price led a full contingent of technology providers at the meeting. Rosemarie Caponi, Director of the IDB Industry Database program, was also in attendance, along with Paul Newman, Sales Associate of MISG, who delivers EDI services through CAT under the AnsiNet and Translink EDI banners.

Computer Pundits Corporation, providers of the Catalog Builder software available through CAT, was represented by company President Prashubh Batham and Sales Associate Bob Stach. Each of the three service offerings raised a great deal of interest at the CAT booth, and several demonstrations were presented.

Several manufacturers expressed keen interest in the Translink EDI program, and MDM Supply of Helena, MT, a member of ASA and WIT, signed up for the IDB Industry Database Service. “After reviewing the database services available to us, MDM chose the IDB Industry Database for it depth of product information, the smooth integration with our Eclipse computer system, the great IDB E-Office software that will smooth out our job submittal process, as well as its low cost,” said Mike Larkey, IS Manager for MDM Supply.

The following week saw the CAT team heading out West to Phoenix to attend the Embassy Group Spring Meeting. CAT has had a display booth at this event for several years. “The meeting is a great opportunity to see existing clients of CAT services, as well as discussing our programs with new prospects,” said Kevin Price. Thirty-one members of the Embassy Group currently use services from CAT.

During April, Price met with the Affiliated Distributors (AD) marketing group, and will be participating in their Fall meeting.
