Goettl Air Conditioning's Vice President John Ryan was interviewed for an upcoming episode of the History Channel's Modern Marvels show, titled “Desert Tech.” Founded in 1939, Goettl was a pioneer in residential air conditioning, which spurred Phoenix to become one of the fastest growing metropolitan cities in the United States - the topic of the show. The company has contracting, service and manufacturing divisions.

Goettl's innovations include the packaged gas pack, the residential heat pump, the piggyback heat pump/evaporative cooling system, and a complete line of 13 SEER energy efficient units, according to the company. “The availability of affordable, energy efficient air conditioning for homes is a major factor in Phoenix's growth from a population of 330,000 in 1950 to over 3.5 million today,” Ryan said in a statement.

The tentative date of the broadcast is Feb. 23.
