ISH Frankfurt will focus on the latest trends in the industry, including two on the HVACR scene: solar heating and home ventilation.

Solar energy continues to grow in significance, according to show organizer Messe Frankfurt, with an unmistakable trend toward obtaining electricity and hot water from the sun - photovoltaic and solar thermal energy conversion. Suppliers exhibiting at the show that offer solar energy equipment include: Wagner, Paradigma, Solvis, Bosch, Buderus, Stiebel Eltron, via Vaillant and Viessmann.

According to a German campaign for solar heating, users of solar energy can save up to 60% on water heating costs per year, and larger systems that also support room heating supply between 12-25% of the total heating energy required. European consumer interest in solar heating steadily increased in the '90s, and sales of solar collectors reached 900,000 in 2001 in Germany.

ISH Frankfurt will also host a home ventilation special show that will demonstrate how a comfortable indoor climate can be created by using general and spot home ventilation systems. The five systems of home ventilation include: spot ventilation systems, spot supply/exhaust systems with heat recovery, general exhaust systems with no heat recovery, general exhaust systems with heat usage via a heat pump, and general supply/exhaust systems without heat recovery.
