When ASA's Annual Meeting convenes on October 13th in Boston, the audience will be turning their rapt attention to Michael Beschloss, the best-selling author and historian.

Michael Beschloss is an award-winning historian of the Presidency and the author of eight books, including his most recent work, the New York Times best seller The Conquerors: Roosevelt, Truman and the Destruction of Hitler's Germany, 1941-1945. Newsweek has called him “the nation's leading Presidential historian.” He is a regular commentator on PBS's The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and a contributor to ABC News.

Beschloss' other bestsellers include Taking Charge, the first volume of his highly-praised trilogy on President Lyndon Johnson's secret tapes, as well as The Crisis Years: Kennedy and Khruschev: 1960-1963, which was called by the New Yorker as the “definitive” book on John Kennedy and the Cold War.

With the Presidential elections just a few weeks away on November 2nd, convention delegates will be keen to hear Beschloss' remarks as they put into perspective the issues that are at play among the Republican and Democratic candidates.
