The St. Louis-based Plumbing Industry Council, in cooperation with Plumbers and Pipefitters' Local No. 562, launched a three-week career and educational enrichment program at the AGC Construction Careers Center Charter High School in November. The program, “Explore and Discover Your Options with PIC,” was developed to expose 39 junior level students to the union plumbing and mechanical industries. Daily classes will focus on commercial and residential plumbing and pipefitting applications. Students also will visit a residential job site, a light commercial site and either a hospital or school site to observe work being performed in the field.

The Plumbing Industry Council, a local union trade association affiliated with PHCC-NA, represents 120 union plumbing and mechanical companies in St. Louis. For more information, contact G. Raymond Hefner, executive vice president of the Plumbing Industry Council at 314-770-0093.
