Linda Mast has been named president of Gorton Heating Corp., succeeding her mother, Marie Klinefelter, who has retired after 23 years in that position.

The valve manufacturing company was founded in 1887 as the Gorton-Lidgerwood Co., and acquired for $1 in 1932 by Joseph Gorton and Henry Feil, Marie Klinefelter's father. Her husband, Glenn Klinefelter, served as president of the company from 1964 until his death in 1978, when Marie Klinefelter became president.

Mast has worked in various capacities for the company over the last 13 years. As president she plans to maintain strong relationships with wholesalers and sales reps and develop new products, she said.
