The Chicago Faucet Co., part of the Geberit Group, has acquired 100% of the shares of W/C Technology Corp. from Masco Corp., effective Nov. 1.

"We are now in the process of integrating WCTC into the Chicago Faucet/Geberit organization," said Keith D. Kramer, president/CEO of Chicago Faucet. The integration should take about six months, he added. No name change is planned at this time.

"We are going to retain Bruce Martin (president of W/C Technology) as a consultant for five years," Kramer said. "The core of the management staff will stay with the company."

WCTC, based in Farmington Hills, Mich., sells pressure tank technology for water closet flushing that it has developed. The company generates annual sales of about $3 million.

Masco acquired patents from the inventor of the pressure tank technology and established the company in 1993. W/C Technology worked with Geberit on the development of a pressure tank solution for concealed tanks that have been sold in the United States since September 2002. WCTC also supplies several major vitreous china manufacturers in the United States.

The Geberit Group is headquartered in Jona, Switzerland. Geberit also operates a manufacturing and sales operation in Michigan City, Ind.
