Donald E. Powell, 72, former chairman and CEO of wholesale firm Powell Supply Inc., Mansfield, Ohio, died Oct. 19 after a brief illness. At age 13 he was employed with Russell Heating & Air-Conditioning in Ashland, Ohio. In 1958 he worked for Tiffin Art Metal in Tiffin, Ohio, then in 1960 he joined Remlong Heating in Mansfield. He later managed Mobile Supply, a company he purchased in 1975 and established as Powell Supply. He lived in the Mansfield area most of his life. Powell was a member of Mansfield B.I.A. Homebuilders Association, Central Ohio Wholesalers, the American Supply Association and a past president of Ashland Homebuilders.
