Chicago Tube & Iron recently announced the promotion of Jim Farnan to vice president of procurement.

“Jim’s responsibility will entail managing the procurement and inventory control functions of CTI’s largest asset as we continue to grow the enterprise,” CTI Executive Vice President and COO Bill Zielinski said. “Jim is a 22-year steel industry veteran, including 17 years with CTI in sales and general management, all of which have prepared him for the significant role he will be stepping into.”

Farnan holds a bachelor of arts degree from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He also has completed the MSCI Strategic Metals Management at Washington University in St. Louis.
