Richard Laudino, co-owner of Piscataway, N.J.-based Aaron & Co., died recently at the age of 62 after battling cancer, the company announced.

Laudino is survived by his wife, Patty, children Michael and Kathryn, son-in-law, John, granddaughter, Anna Rose, parents Frank Sr., and Betty, sister, Patti, brother, Frank, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael Laudino is the third generation of family to work at the company.

In a letter to Aaron & Co. team members, suppliers and friends, co-owner Barry Portnoy noted Richard Laudino joined the company after graduating from Rutgers University more than 40 years ago.

“The stories of the 40 years are important, but not really,” Portnoy wrote. “What is really important is that Richard truly loved the company and the team we built. What is really important is we will honor Richard’s wish and continue on. What we have done has been too special. What is really important is that Richard endorsed our plan for our ESOP; he saw the vision and liked what he saw. We won’t give up. We have just taken some serious blows and we are hurting. By sticking together as we do, by caring for each other as we do, we will get through this and have the future that Richard, Frank (Laudino; Aaron & Co. co-owner) and I saw for us.”

A wake will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home in Milltown, N.J. A funeral mass will be offered Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown. Interment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 233 North Main St., Milltown, NJ, 08850 or Elijah’s Promise, 211 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, NJ, 08901, would be appreciated.
