How To Keep Track Of Supplier & Competitor Imports

ImportGenius is a service that enables companies to keep real-time tabs on the shipping and receiving activities of competitors and suppliers alike.
They rely on import/export data collected by U.S. Customs, which is already publicly available. However, it's not easy to search through the data, and ImportGenius has devised a program that gives customers immediate information on shipments as they cross customs. The information includes contact info for both the exporter and importer of the shipment, which reveals where the products are being sourced overseas and where overseas suppliers are selling in the U.S. |

Anvil Cites ISAT Link For Seismic Code Compliance
Anvil International
says that its working alliance with ISAT (International Seismic Application Technology) meets the needs of recently adopted requirements issued by the International Building Code (IBC) as they relate to enhanced seismic protection of buildings. The code expands the definition of seismic events beyond earthquakes to include climate, geology and geopolitical conflicts that might cause buildings to shake.
Fluid Power Demand Down, But Pricing Up According to an August 2008 survey of fluid power distributors by Longbow Research
analyst Eli Lustgarten, demand for fluid power equipment is weakening, but price increases accelerated from June to July. "Pricing increases in July accelerated to the highest level seen since we started surveying fluid power distributors," said Lustgarten. "We received numerous reports of pricing increases from Eaton (effective in June) and Parker-Hannifin (effective on July 1). Some distributors are also reporting notification of future price increases from Vickers (Eaton) in mid-August, though the amount of increase is unknown, and Eaton on October 1, in the 7%-10% range."

Almost any resource you might think of is on that one main page. A premium version (currently $29 a year) allows you to customize your home page.
Even if you think you know where to go, check this out. I've discovered new resources just scanning the lists of options. It's like having a business web librarian make you a list of sites you should visit.
Knowledge is power, here's a jump start.

This Fall begins the next series of Webinars presenting the latest concepts in modern hydronic heating system design. Each offers a 1.5 Certificate of Completion for Continuing Education and is the fraction of the cost to travel to a live conference.
Cast- Iron Boiler Technology: Past, Present, and Future
September 11 at 1pm ET
Cast iron boilers have been the backbone of the hydronics industry for decades. Some might suggest that cast-iron boilers are dated and approaching obsolescence relative to newer boilers constructed of other materials. This seminar will show why this is NOT the case. You'll also learn why cast-iron, although it may appear gray or rusty in it's raw form, is really a very "green" material.
The Application of Storage Tanks in Hydronic & Solar Thermal Systems
October 16 at 1pm ET
This Webinar covers a wide range of tank applications and presents technical information on where the tanks are needed, how they are sized, and the best way to pipe them into specific systems. Although storage tanks have been part of some hydronic systems for years, this webinar will present unique and state-of-the-art applications that will help define the future of hydronic and solar thermal systems.
