Ferguson Showrooms To Launch “National Green Month” In January

Newport News, VA-based Ferguson plans to dedicate the entire month of January to “National Green Month.” The nationwide program will highlight the wholesaler’s inventory of green products and the product knowledge of its showroom consultants.

“Our objective is to be the premier provider of green solutions,” said Gail Kaufman, Wolseley North America’s director of green business and customer programs.

Ferguson sells a broad range of green products across several categories, including fixtures, faucets, water heaters and appliances.

The green awareness program was developed, in part, from insights provided by more than 300 Ferguson associates. A critical part of the program focuses on training. More than 900 showroom associates had been trained to prepare for “National Green Month” as of early December. In addition to offering customer education, the program will help customers more easily identify energy-efficient options such as high-efficiency toilets with the use of special labeling.

Ferguson was recognized as the first retail and distributor WaterSense Partner of the Year by the Environmental Protection Agency earlier this year. This was partly attributed to the wholesaler’s promotion of high-efficiency toilets and other water-saving devices.

”Our [showroom] consultants can help customers make simple adjustments — such as replacing a showerhead — which can result in big savings for themselves and the environment,” said Sam Rose, Wolseley North America’s showroom manager.
