Celebrate World Plumbing Day by conserving how much water/energy you use every day. Here are a few suggestions from the World Plumbing Council (WPC):

  • Use a hose nozzle while you wash your car. You’ll save up to 100 gallons every time!

  • Using a broom instead of a garden hose to clean your driveway will save 13 gallons every minute you clean.

  • Reduce your greenhouse emissions by installing a solar hot water heater.

  • Put food coloring in your toilet tank. If it seeps into the bowl without flushing, you have a leak. Fix it and save 1,000 gallons a month!

WPC Chairman, Robert Burgon, launched the first World Plumbing Day at a press conference in Beijing, China, in conjunction with the ISH China exhibition, organized by WPC’s special industry partner Messe Frankfurt. Read here for a live blog from PM Editor Kelly Faloon, who’s attending the show in Beijing.
