Heating, Airconditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) announced that Fox News’ contributor, Tucker Carlson, will be the keynote speaker at its 2010 Congressional Fly-In, May 18-19 in Washington, D.C. Carlson has hosted political talk shows on CNN, MSNBC, and PBS before moving to Fox News. He is also currently the editor-in-chief of TheDailyCaller.com TheDailyCaller.com. Carlson will address HARDI Fly-In participants during the dinner banquet the evening of May 18 to give his insider’s overview of the Obama administration, the 2010 mid-term elections, and the major legislative issues facing HARDI members this year.

This will be HARDI’s third time hosting a Congressional Fly-In, at which the organization arranges all meetings for members based on their location(s), and prepares and provides talking points that they can use as a guide during their congressional meetings and leave with their representative as a resource.  It also make every attempt to combine meetings for distributors within the same district, so there is no need to be nervous about facing congressmen alone.

“The decision to hold our third Fly-In was an easy one given the growth in participation and interest we’ve seen in previous Fly-In’s and the unprecedented number of issues affecting our members these days,” said HARDI Executive Vice President and C.O.O. Donald Frendberg.  2009’s Congressional Fly-In was the stage for 120 meetings with House and Senate members. 2010’s Congressional Fly-In will again promote the interests of HVACR wholesale distributors on Capitol Hill including:
  • extending the HVAC tax credits, putting the final nail in Card Check,
  • keeping taxes low,
  • securing commercial HVAC incentives,
  • laying the groundwork for REAL healthcare reform,
  • and preserving the important LIFO accounting method.
(HARDI supplier and service vendor members are always invited and encouraged to participate in support of their distributor partners.)
