The U.S. Department of Defense awarded MADCAD.com a one-year subscription contract for online access to more than 800 building codes and standards from ASHRAE, ASME, BHMA, ICC and NFPA. MADCAD.com's database includes more than 10,000 codes and standards that can be searched simultaneously and provides it in cross-referenced HTML format.

The contract will provide architects, engineers, specifiers and facility managers at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency, and U.S. Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence with access to non-government standards that are referenced in the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS). UFGS is used in specifying construction for the military services.

The contract also includes the updating of the Unified Master Reference List (UMRL), which lists publications referenced in the UFGS, by MADCAD.com. UMRL is used in the SpecsIntact software, which is an automated system for preparing standardized military facility construction specifications, and is developed and maintained by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
