The American Supply Association
distributor members reported a 2.3% improvement in revenues during the second
quarter 2010 as compared to the same time last year.
A mid-year business
conditions survey by the North Central Wholesalers Association (NCWA) reveal
the first sales increases in a long time for distributors in that beleaguered
region of the country.
HARDI announced North American HVACR
distributor sales in May were up nearly 8% from last year in
its Monthly Targeted and Regional Economic News for Distribution Strategies
(TRENDS) Report.
"There finally are signs of
a plan to push export-centric business that will result in a clear global trade
policy,” says Dr. Chris Kuehl, economic analyst for the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association.
HD Supply reported a total of
$1.8 billion in net sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2010, a 5.7 percent
decline compared to the same time last year.
According to a recent NAHB
Construction Forecast Conference Webinar, the housing market is on the road to
recovery, being carried forward by low interest rates, pent up household
formations, stabilizing prices and budding employment growth.
