InSinkErator and the National Association Home Builders (NAHB) Women’s Council honored outstanding members with scholarships and awards as part of the 52nd annual Women’s Council Spike Club Awards Reception at the NAHB International Builders Show in Orlando, FL.

Members who exceeded recruitment expectations in 2007 were awarded scholarships that their local women’s council will use to provide financial assistance to students pursuing degrees relevant to the building industry.

NAHB Women’s Council Chairman Diane Willenbring presented the following scholarship awards:

  • Robert M. Cox Spike of the Nation Awards—Emilee Collins of the HBA of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties was the top recruiter and the Rookie of the Year, recruiting 24 new members. She was awarded the National Spike Award receiving a plaque from the Women’s Council and a $500 scholarship.

  • The following regional award winners received a $300 scholarship and a Spikette pin: Northeast Region A: JoAnn Bogese of the Southside VA Women’s Council; Southeast Region B: Julie Lawrence of the Greater Montgomery HBA; Midwest Region C: Polly Marean of the HBA of Greater Des Moines Women’s Council; Midwest, Mid-South and Texas Region D: Pam Weaver of the Acadiana HBA Women’s Council; and American West Region E: Chris Wissenback, BA of Northern Nevada.
