SWA’s 78th Annual Convention
June 25-27, 2006

The members of the Southern Wholesalers Association will meet at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort in South Carolina for their 78th Annual Convention, June 25-27. The Convention program comprises a combination of business sessions, social programs and the popular Conference Booth Program. Among the Convention highlights are:

Keynote Address by Edwin Scott Jr.

Ed Scott Jr. has spent his entire professional life as an observer and analyst of, and reporter on the plumbing, HVAC, piping and water supply industries. He will present the SWA Keynote Address on Monday morning, and will participate in a follow-up “Industry Forum” session, where he will expound upon his remarks in a more casual atmosphere. Questions from the audience will drive the discussion during this rare session.

During his remarks and follow-up session, Scott will focus on how the economy directly impacts wholesale distributors in the South, and what opportunities may lie ahead for the economic growth in the region.

Conference Booth Program

More than 70 supplier booths will be featured, representing the largest regional program of its kind in the industry, which offers the perfect opportunity for industry partners to meet and interact.

Vendor Sales/Mid-Year Review Meeting

Time has been set aside on Sunday afternoon, June 25, to allow manufacturers the opportunity to host private sales/mid-year review meetings with their wholesalers and representatives. Those interested in reserving a meeting room or hospitality suite should contact the SWA office.

SWA Board and Committee Meetings

On Sunday afternoon, June 25, SWA’s standing committees and Board of Directors will meet to plan the upcoming association year. The Supplier’s Advisory Council will meet to provide input regarding strategic and convention planning issues. Likewise, members of the Membership & Conference, Finance & Technology, Education & Member Services and Strategic Planning & Industry Relations committees will convene that day.
